Winter is retrieving, spring bears new fruit.
Today I am writing with deep excitement in my heart.
Over the winter months, my partner
and I have been working on our first big collaborative project, which we believe, can help many organizations, communities, and individuals transition into a regenerative paradigm, and amplify the voices of those already working in it.Throughout the last year, both of us experienced and catalyzed each other’s growth which lead us seeking for renewed ways of being and working in this world.
More simple. More grounded. More true.
At the start of December, I left a tech job that I’d been in for almost two years, which felt like the end of the era. Sometimes, an ending of a period in life feels like a death to a story of you—a version of you—that has halted and resigned from leading you forward.
“Those who are holding power today—what is dying today—are less wired for the future, than the ones who are being born.” I heard my mentor Indra Adnan.
What is dying decomposes and returns back to the potentiality of soil. Sacrifices itself for new life.
What is being born is a new story of being in this world. With honesty, with vulnerability, with openness. I am reminded of the wonder and simplicity of new life, and an unburdened perception of a child. I am reminded of my senses, soft light coming through branches onto my desk, as I write. I am reminded of soft communion with the world around me.
Every new birth is an incarnation of the future. Every single creative act, every single simplification, every single truth shared—is an act of defiance against the inertia of degeneration and collective patterns that dampen and suppress our aliveness.
But nothing is born out of itself, nothing is self-made.
Today we are launching Sympoiesis.
Sympoiesis is the experience and design lab co-creating regenerative futures through imagination and perception-expanding experiences.
We will offer our work within three domains: Regenerative Communications, Facilitating Transformation, and Research & Insight.
Regenerative Communications
We are bringing to life a new paradigm in marketing and communications. One that has co-creation, ethics, and enlivenment at its heart.
We call it regenerative communications.
In essence, regenerative communications focus on two things: turning inward and creating communications that enliven.
Regeneration starts from within. An organization’s inner world precedes and inspires outer action and communication. In the process of turning inward, Sympoiesis helps you understand the essence of your organization — your values, guiding principles, and evolutionary purpose, while evolving the inherent potential of your people and the stakeholders you serve.
Turning inward is at the center of creating a regenerative organization that nurtures a culture of trust, self and systemic awareness, and compassion.
These qualities are essential to develop products and services that respond to the genuine needs of your stakeholders, taking into account the needs of more-than-human beings and future generations.
This process forms the basis of any communications strategy, campaign, or visual identity.
Facilitating Transformation
In our facilitated workshops, we cultivate collective imagination for social transformation. We believe that the most valuable insights emerge from our being together in sympoietic spaces.
What if we considered plants, animals, and ecosystems as clients? How can we design and innovate to accommodate the needs of humans and more-than-human beings?
The ecological crisis is a crisis of imagination and relationships.
In our Worldbuilding Regenerative Futures workshops, we explore present-futures through more-than-human embodied imagination.
The workshop promotes the idea of Sympoiesis or worlding-with. We learn from the logic of life and apply its teachings to our world-building, storytelling, and innovation and design processes.
The workshop expands participants’ perceptions and collective imagination to create radical social transformation. It helps you create products and services with greater awareness of who you are designing for and with, as well as account for the systemic impacts of your design and innovation choices.
Research & Insight
The only organizations that will survive and thrive in the future are the regenerative ones.
Business as usual is unsustainable. To be future-proof, organizations must embrace regeneration. While many are talking about regeneration, few know what it is, or how to transition toward systems that are truly in support of life.
Research brings awareness and insight into how your organization or business can transition toward a true regenerative model.
We help organizations meet their current reality and embrace their innate future potential, in face of required transformation for the new regenerative paradigm.
Our research surfaces essential insights into your organization’s stakeholders, internal-external ecosystems, and market, enabling you to make the decisions that transform your organization from within toward greater coherence, aliveness, and health. Our work makes implicit data and patterns explicit. This helps you to realign with your core values and evolutionary purpose.
You can explore more through Sympoiesis.world website and stay up to date with our events and offerings though
Substack.Thank you for sharing this with your networks or those you might think can benefit from our work.
Today I feel deep gratitude for the aliveness, for the vulnerability of spring, and for renewal.
